Spring Joy

Here we are reveling in the coming of a very late spring. I planted peas, spinach, and kale in a high and dry corner of the garden yesterday. Just today I finally heard the peeper frogs, freshly out from hibernation. Hanging out in a tree branch over the lake about 1/2 mile from my house I spotted a  juvenile bald eagle - probably about one year old judging from the markings. I quickly pulled the car over and got out to get a better look. (S)he wasn't phased in the least at my presence, which is typical of my few encounters with baldies. I guess they know they are big enough that they have nothing to fear. I chatted with the eagle and (s)he occasionally graced me with a curious glance. Later when I went to pick my daughter up from Flying Deer Nature Center's wilderness school I met an exhausted - but excited - group of children. They had finally succeeded today in their three week quest to find a deer antler shed. 

So here we are reveling in such joys after the exceedingly long winter!  I always welcome spring's warm embrace, but this year it's particularly appreciated!

I'm very eager to be working more on this website!! It's something I'm super excited and passionate about right now. Alas, my semester ends in 3 weeks and I need to get moving on several papers, so I will probably not be posting much at all until May. :(

Look for a ton of new information and upcoming workshops late spring and into summer!
